This is the design of the contents page for my music magazine, and in order for me to know how to lay it out, I have had to do some research into the different conventions of magazines and what makes a successful magazine. So, therefore my in order to create my contents page template, I have decided to take inspiration from 'Bliss' magazine, and even though this is not a music magazine, I still found it to be very helpful, because it had a very good, and even layout of text and images so therefore this is an immediate eye catcher for the audience and hopefully it means that it will sell well. So firstly I am going to discuss the design and setting of my heading for my contents page. I have decided to locate it at the top of the page so that it stands out, and it will be a bold font so that it is eye-catching. Next, I have decided how I am going to lay out my images and text. When I create my magazine, I will need to make sure that I have a substantial amount of images because what I have decided to do is have 4 images on the right hand side on the page, which will have a page number next to them to indicate to the reader what the story will be on that particular page, and the image that is with that photo will link t what the story is about. There will be quite few images on the contents page, so therefore I am hoping that this will make the page stand out more. However, in terms of text and headings etc, I have decided to locate the text in the bottom half of the page nearer to the right hand side, and here I will have hopefully four sun headings of what I am going to include in the magazine, for example these might include clothing styles for different genres of music, and celebrity interviews and other music gossip which is an immediate attention grabber for the audience. The layout of my contents page is well structured and it is also very informative without being overcrowded. I have placed the text and images close to each other without making it seem as though they will overlap each other or make the page seem overcrowded. The spacing out of the images and text, and making sure that everything is in the right place is very important in designing my magazine, because if the little things aren't in the right place then the whole magazine layout won't look right. Finally, ii have decided to include in my contents page design an exclusive, which can be seen on the upper mid left hand side of the contents page. This slightly overlaps the textbox and my other image, however it won't overlap the actual text itself, so it shouldn't be a problem trying to read anything that is in the magazine.
